Whole30 Day 14

Two weeks into the Whole30 program and I’m starting to reap the benefits! My joints are not as stiff and I’m moving around with greater ease. My clothes are finally beginning to fit a little bit looser and I’ve resisted the temptation to get on the scales.

The craving for sugar has subsided, or can be satisfied with fresh fruit and coconut cream, or some dates. I did have to lay off the dates for a few days because I was becoming too dependent on them, but now I think I can handle eating two or three without going overboard.

I’ve read that it takes a minimum of 21 days to change old eating habits. I am beginning to understand why it’s so important to practice new eating habits for an extended period of time so that those habits become a part of a healthy eating lifestyle.

Day 14 Diary

  • Breakfast–eggs fried in clarified butter, slices of avocado
  • Lunch–Remainder of shrimp scampi sautéed with leftover spinach, berries topped with coconut cream.
  • Snack–cashews
  • Dinner–grilled hamburger patties; portobello mushrooms, zucchini, yellow squash, and onions sautéed in clarified butter; apple sauce topped with coconut cream.
  •  Attended my yoga class
  • Reached my goal of 10,000 steps on Fitbit
